POSITION OVERVIEW: The Nelson HR function is going through a transformational change and has identified the need for a a talented Benefits and Compensation Analyst to join our team. This unique position will start as very “hands on” position with a significant amount of data entry and administration being required as we retire our legacy HRIS system and move to a fully integrated HRIS system. The incumbent will have the opportunity to implement both the benefits and compensation modules of our new HRIS system. Strategically, we are looking for someone who can help shape and design our future benefits and compensation programs to help us become an employer of choice.

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Employee Benefits
  • Responsible for benefit invoicing and ensuring contract terms are aligned and payments are made on time.
  • Serve as the initial point of contact to resolve complex employee benefits inquiries in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Work closely with brokers to evaluate and benchmark our benefits programs based on industry trends and best practices to ensure competitiveness.
  • Document, maintain, and streamline procedures for benefits program processes
  • Complete regular and ad hoc audits to ensure that employee benefits coverage, payroll deductions, and vendor invoices are accurate. Reconcile and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Manages benefit carrier file feeds, reviewing and auditing for error resolution.
  • Provides support during Open Enrollment including coordinating with external benefits broker, activity timelines, training, and communications materials
  • Create and or coordinate with Broker and execute communication campaigns and other required notices for employees (e.g., SPDs, SMMs) and other stakeholders on benefit programs.
  • Manages and administers ACA reporting.
  • Coordinates the filing of appropriate regulatory filings, such as annual 5500’s.
  • Coordinates the Employee Wellness program across all US locations.
  • Provide oversight and management of our leave programs (FMLA, vacation, parental leave etc.).
  • Manage the day-to-day administration of the 401k plan. Including being the HR point of contact for the annual 401k audit.
  • Coordinate and facilitate 401k Committee Meetings.
  • In coordination with the 401k vendor develop, execute, and monitors participant education and communication programs related to the 401k plan.
Compensation
  • Conduct market analysis of existing and proposed jobs using survey data and market pricing intelligence to determine competitive compensation ranges for each job.
  • Provides analytical data support during the annual AOP (budget) process as well as during the annual merit review process.
  • Monitor and verify compensation details within the HRIS system including updates to salary and incentive compensation programs.
  • Identify and participate in ongoing compensation process improvements.
  • Conduct job evaluations to determine the salary grade, range, and FLSA status.
  • Work with managers and/or HR professionals to prepare and update job descriptions.
  • Participate in salary survey and analyze the results to ensure market competitiveness.
  • Conduct periodic salary audits to ensure fairness in our salary administration (no pay equity concerns).

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent benefits administration experience required. Degree in Human Resources or Business Administration preferred.
  • 4-7 years benefits experience required; prior compensation experience desired
  • Prior HRIS experience required
