Job Summary:
The FlexTech is a combination of a service maintenance technician, warehouse worker, inventory solutions fulfillment, and general operations worker. FlexTech is expected to have or acquire the skills via training provided by Nelson-Jameson to conduct machine set up, troubleshooting, repairs and preventative maintenance service on sanitary processing equipment and lines. The technician is responsible for properly maintaining/repairing equipment per manufacturer guidelines. Maintaining education and training as needed for equipment service. Warehouse duties as required to operate an effective, safe and efficient facility. Responsible for traveling, servicing, and fulfilling, and installing customer inventory solutions as needed, while maintaining professional representation of Nelson-Jameson and creating good rapport with customer contacts. The FlexTech will prioritize, with the help of managers, Service and Repair projects and Inventory Solutions duties when they are available and required.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, troubleshoot and repair plant equipment related problems such as mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and electronic for sanitary and utility equipment.
- Provide emergency repairs.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Keep records of repairs and develop or make necessary changes to planned maintenance schedules.
- Comply and keep up to date with all safety regulations and food safety regulations and programs as outlined by Nelson-Jameson.
- Comply with all customer site safety regulations and food safety regulations and programs.
- Identify and follow piping lines both in plants and on P&ID drawings.
- Assist plant personnel as needed.
- Maintain a professional working image and communication as you are a representation of Nelson-Jameson.
- Confirm and monitor inventory stocking levels, including product movement, put away, and cleanup of shipping materials afterwards.
- Creation of suggested orders based on preset inventory program and current inventory levels at customer location.
- Ensure proper labeling is in place and quantities on hand are accurate. Duty to communicate and take lead on the labeling and other actions that need to be updated or improved.
- Provide accuracy for all activities related to SupplyRITE™ at multiple customer sites.
- Resolve or relay customer issues to appropriate departments promptly and accurately in a manner that will retain and promote customer loyalty.
- Follow designated routes as determined by management.
- Document and follow standard operating and safety procedures at customer locations.
- Assist in creation of new procedures.
- Troubleshoot problems and make independent judgements and decisions when necessary to resolve customer’s critical issues reporting back on actions taken.
- Identify and communicate continuous improvement opportunities to management.
- Ability to sign NDAs.
- Participate in implementation of new projects as assigned.
- Collaborate with appropriate members of the sales team to confirm account status and expand opportunities.
- Ability to understand and handle technical, operational, and financial concerns.
- Ability to apply excellent judgment and good business sense when problems arise. Always acting and speaking in a professional manner in front of customers and co-workers.
- Perform data collection at customer site.
- Assist with staging, labeling, and organizing on-site.
- Troubleshoot and resolve vending machine malfunction issues on-site upon assistance from other department members or proper training has been completed.
- Ability to train and demonstrate inventory solutions to customers on-site.
- Execute product relocation and discontinuation process.
- Proficient at completing all necessary documents required for unloading and loading of trucks.
- Accurately receive purchase orders and complete required documentation.
- Accurately execute putaway process.
- Print orders and pick lists.
- Assist with inventory and cycle counts.
- Print, pick, and ship transfers.
- Accurately pick and prepare products for outgoing shipments to include LTL, small parcel, routes, and customer pick-ups.
- Accurately “ship confirm” and prepare all necessary documents required for outbound orders.
- Assist in keeping the facility clean and orderly, including sweeping and dusting.
- Operate all onsite forklifts that could include turret truck, order picker, deep reach, counterbalance, and pallet jack.

Required Education and Experience:
- Education: High school degree or equivalent.
- Strong working knowledge of mechanics and repair.
- Understanding of pumps, valves, homogenizers, conveyor systems, pneumatic equipment, hydraulic systems, basic electrical, equipment troubleshooting skills.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and an insurable drivers record.
- Be willing to travel to locations of work as needed.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- An understanding of dairy and/or pharmaceutical standards and equipment.
- Experience: 1 years as a sanitary maintenance mechanic preferably on packaging lines in the food or beverage industry.

Work Week:
Hours: 40 HRS Days: Sunday – Saturday, typically varies between 7:00a.m. – 5:30p.m., schedule could encompass all shifts. Overtime: As needed
