Job Description: Growth Manager
Nema Health is a survivor and clinician led virtual center for PTSD & trauma care. Our mission is to guide trauma survivors at every step of their journey towards healing, starting first with the remote, intensive delivery of cognitive processing therapy (CPT).
Nema is seeking a Growth Manager to focus on, drive, and hone all efforts to enable Nema to reach patients at scale for its proven clinical services. The growth function that this person will help support includes business development, marketing, and patient acquisition. Nema is currently in contract with payers and will be expanding its health plan and state footprint in the coming months. Driving growth in patient volume and expanding Nema’s reach are top priorities for the business and at the core of Nema’s mission of providing treatment access to all trauma survivors. This person will report to the COO and work closely with the CEO while collaborating cross-functionally in order to shape Nema’s growth, with an initial focus on driving patient volume and helping secure additional payer contracts.

The Growth Manager will:
Patient Acquisition Efforts
- Project manage all efforts Nema is making to increase our “top of funnel” of new patients across B2B partnerships (e.g., provider referral processes, payer engagement) and marketing efforts (e.g. paid search/SEM, blog content strategy/SEO, paid social); the key goal is to ensure efforts are moving forward with coordinated efforts across the team
- Own tactical execution on patient acquisition efforts (e.g., running email campaigns, experimenting with provider referrals in new markets, overseeing conference and speaking opportunity planning)
- Run point on data analytics and KPIs related to our patient acquisition efforts (e.g., patient acquisition dashboards, CAC, conversions) to help tell the story of what is and is not working; devise actionable recommendations for leadership on how to prioritize efforts based on data
- Manage marketing budget dedicated to patient acquisition efforts with forecast guidance from the CEO and COO
Broader Marketing Build Out
- Partner with Nema’s external marketing consultants who offer specialized services to Nema such as paid search/SEM, social media advertising, and PR
- Lead weekly Marketing meetings to review key topics related to growth for discussion and workshopping with cross-functional team members
- Create and edit written content for Nema’s blog, social media, email campaigns, collateral etc.
B2B Sales
- Support the CEO on payer sales by managing the Payer CRM, driving next steps across the pipeline, and documenting progress on sales conversations
- Develop an understanding of the payer landscape state-by-state in order to inform Nema’s sales efforts
- Help stand up Nema’s provider referral channel to build relationships and drive patient acquisition through strategic provider partners
Qualifications
Required
- 3 years working in healthcare services with an understanding of the key stakeholders and major trends
- 3 years in operational or strategic roles (i.e., management consulting, business operations, business development, marketing)
- Highly organized and can work autonomously in an early company environment; has an affinity for managing projects from start to finish and driving next steps
- Strong analytical skills and data driven; very comfortable with quantitative analysis
- Well rounded technical skills including high proficiency with Excel/Google Sheets and working with datasets and data visualization tools (e.g., Looker) for analysis
- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment, subject to rapid change and innovation
- Eager to roll up their sleeves and execute while understanding how their work fits into the bigger picture; can ask the right questions to create quality output
- Adept and efficient at navigating new platforms and learning new skills
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. Has a keen ability to write and edit content well
- Passionate about the company’s mission and operates from a company-owner mentality to make Nema successful
- Ability to travel approximately once a quarter for week long team meet-ups
Preferred
- 2 years working in mental healthcare services with familiarity of the trends in the behavioral health space
- 2 years in a marketing or growth related function
- 2 years at an early stage startup (pre seed to series A for example)
- Demonstrated experience in developing and executing successful growth strategies
- Experience working with and creating content for paid social, and/or writing and edited blog posts or articles
- Experience with SEO and/or SEM
Nema Health is a seed stage company backed by top healthcare VCs. This is a full time, exempt, salaried position reporting to the COO. Compensation will be determined by the candidate's experience, with a salary range of $80,000-$130,000. The full-time compensation package will include competitive equity, unlimited PTO, a healthcare stipend, a 401(k) with matching, an annual work-from-home productivity stipend, an annual education stipend, and paid parental leave. This role is remote and the candidate can be located anywhere in the United States.
