Data Analyst

GENERAL SUMMARY

The Michigan Lottery and NeoPollard Interactive are seeking a Data Analyst to join our Michigan Lottery’s Digital Gaming Unit.  The Data Analyst will be responsible as part of an analysis team to perform a wide array of tasks.  The analyst will use data to generate insights to drive strategic platform enhancements and marketing decisions to improve the Lottery’s digital properties.  The Analyst will collaborate with the full team toward the ultimate goal of growing Michigan’s School Aid Fund.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Create and maintain standard reporting and provide analysis for digital activities.
• Provide actionable insights to enhance decision making for digital initiatives.
• Extract data from reporting systems such as Google Analytics, BigQuery, marketing databases, and various other analytics systems.
• Build, deploy, audit, and maintain website tags to track website interaction using Google Tag Manager or other tools.
• Provide data analysis and business support for reporting, dashboards, and data analytics associated with Michigan Lottery’s platforms.
• Provide reporting on results and trends to determine successes and opportunities.
• Assist in the design and implementation of A/B and multivariate tests on the website to enhance user experience.
• Perform analysis on test results.
• Help maintain project schedules, tasks, and documentation for analysis projects.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure data resources are working together to determine results and actions needed.
• Handle special projects as assigned by manager.

QUALIFICATIONS

• BA/BS in a quantitative discipline –Business Analytics, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or other applicable degree preferred.
• Experience in compiling, summarizing, and analyzing data preferred.
• Knowledge of SQL strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of statistical programming language, such as R or Python preferred.
• Experience in website analysis preferred.
• Experience with Google Analytics & Google Tag Manager preferred.
• Requires critical thinking, problem solving, and commitment to accuracy.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
