What are the responsibilities and job description for the System Engineer II position at Neptune?
Position Summary:
Provide system engineering and field support for network deployment and operation in coordination with stakeholders. Perform RF propagation and coverage planning for optimal site and system design. Develop and support analysis tools and software for system infrastructure deployment and maintenance. Assist with the field activities and serve as liaison with customers. Evaluate system performance and provide reports as required. Ensure compliance with network and engineering standards and guidelines to meet customer expectations. Collaborate and mentor less experienced engineers. Travel is required for this position.
Objectives:
- Complete sales and project requests for propagation design, operating application software, and completing presentations accurately and on time. Use software to map a utility’s service area, locate meter addresses via geo-coding, locate collector locations with latitude/longitude and make recommendations for optimal number and location for collector sites.
- Lead and support Quality and Engineering initiatives by evaluating system performance through analytics of data, accessing databases, and writing application code. Identifying and presenting technical recommendations for improved system performance.
- Lead and support requests for RF analysis, and frequency applications for new, modifications, and renewals. Requires coordination and completion of required administration application processing as necessary.
- Lead in the development of standards relating to the RF network design and develop optimization planning of propagation model for systems, including equipment specifications, model settings, and clutter using system measurement and performance data.
- Proactively provide field support with interdepartmental teams. Conduct and support network field audits including configuration, troubleshooting, and repair of system hardware as necessary. Provide pre-and post-sales field support to the system infrastructure deployment process in coordination with project managers, distributors, customers, and contractors. Travel as necessary.
- Support RFP responses. Prepare documentation and manuals, Create reports and presentations.
Requirements:
Education: Bachelor of Science in Engineering
Experience: 3 years of applicable experience in wireless or cellular engineering
