A major oil and gas operator is looking for a Piping and Mechanical Quality Inspector to support operations in Malaga, NM on a M-F schedule working 50 hours a week. This is a one year contract opportunity.
The Inspector will oversee construction and commissioning contractors in the construction, testing and turnover of Oil and Gas Facilities.
- Daily interaction with Contractor Piping and Mechanical work force, reviewing contractors work plans and JSAs to provide client Work Authorization to proceed;
- Walkdown and quality inspection of construction contractor Civil, structural, piping and mechanical sub-systems per contractor agreed inspection and test programs
- Providing Client/Owner Witness/Inspection of various hold points in the inspection and test of piping and mechanical systems.
- Monitor and appraise the contractors construction quality in discipline specific areas and ensure that necessary corrective actions are taken.
- Ensure required inspection records are maintained.
- Advise and inform the Site Quality Manager and the Site Construction Manager on issues, status and metrics
- Ensure contractor is performing quality reporting per the contract.
- Generate NCR where appropriate
Qualifications and experience
- 10 years minimum onshore construction experience related to discipline
- 5 years minimum in QA/AC field with Piping & Mechanical experience
- Minimum high school graduate or equivalent. A college degree in a related field is preferred
- Expert in specific construction discipline(s)
- Must be proficient in common PC software (MS Word; MS Excel; Lotus Notes; etc).
- Evidence of training and certification in the assigned inspection discipline.
- Working knowledge of construction standards, codes of practice and regulations/legislation relating to Piping and equipment/mechanical systems
- Current certification as ASNT level II or III inspector (or equivalent) is strongly desired.
- Current certification as AWS CWI (or equivalent) is strongly desired
