Nesco is in search of a Quality Control Manager for one of our clients based in Bethel, CT.
SUMMARY:
The QC Manager will be responsible for managing the Quality Control Department. The candidate will support the Quality Systems, identify quality related issues and report quality trends in order to support the broader organizational goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage all inspectors, Quality Technicians, and Quality Supervisor.
- Evaluate products to develop appropriate inspection / gauging techniques.
- Work with customers on customer complaints (Provide them with Containment Action, Root Cause Analysis and Short / Long Term Corrective and Preventive Actions).
- Perform training for manufacturing / Quality associates to work instructions and procedures.
- Work with customer service and sales on initiating / closing returns.
- Help customers with Supplied Data Agreement requests.
- Analyze and disposition Non-Conformance Reports.
- Responsible for contacting customers with any deviation from the specification.
- Prepare Gauge R&R and process capability studies based on customer requests or internal requirements.
- Identify adverse quality trends or conditions and make recommendations with direct managers.
- Initiate corrective and preventive actions.
- Monitor and track data collection and analysis.
- Support engineering with process validations (IQ, OQ, PQ).
- Work with Engineering to complete PPAP documentation (PFMEA, Control Plan, Flow Chart and Part Submission Warrant).
- Create, review and update Procedures and Work Instructions applicable to the Quality Department.
- Initiate Engineering Change requests to implement any change in documentation.
- Work with suppliers to resolve quality issues.
- Perform additional tasks/jobs as assigned by the Manager.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:
- BS in Engineering or related Technical field with at least 3 years of related experience.
- Strong PC skills with proficiency in Excel, Word and Minitab.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong knowledge of metrology processes, including standard, ultrasonic and Eddy Current gauging techniques.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
