Graphics & Elements Producer

The Graphics/Elements Producer supporting SportsNet Pittsburgh oversees the graphic and statistical execution on Pirates game telecasts (and other pro-product telecasts in which the network broadcasts) inclusive of researching and determining the graphics to air. The position will also work with Sales, Creative Services and the game producer on the preparation and implementation of sales elements with the game broadcast.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Oversee, coordinate, and implement storylines and graphics for Pirates remote game coverage.
• Work in concert with game producer and announcers to present the appropriate statistical information to the viewer in Pirates pre-production and during the game.
• Function as daily contact point for third-party graphic vendor relationships for Pirates remote coverage such as Chyron, TV Graphics, Stats Inc., and Sport Radar. 
• Develop in tandem with Creative Services and NESN graphics counterparts any new changes to Pirates and other network properties’ insert look, wraparound look or scoreline design and functionality.
• Becomes fluent in Chyron Mosaic keyboard and messaging numbers to have most efficient game telecasts.
• Oversee all score bug operators assigned to network remote telecasts (whether staff or freelance) and provide guidance and checkpoints on sponsorship, editorial and data emanating from the score bug.  
• Support game producer on all elements integrated into remote broadcast –including sales, promotional and team enhancements.
• Work as primary daily contact point with network sales and marketing for elements – including proper creative delivery and checking creative execution to conform to game production needs.
• Drive production of sales graphic elements by providing feed-forward and feedback for Creative Services.
• Write sponsorship and promotion announcer cards to give to the stage manager.
• Ensure game producer provides at end of each game the necessary time-of-day reference point to traffic, sales, marketing, and programming for all elements integrated into broadcast.
• Backfill for graphics producer or elements producer for other network games.
• Field produces interviews and stories and produces b-roll, teases, or features, as assigned.

Qualifications:

• 5 years of experience in live remote sports television production is required.
• 1 years of experience creating and producing graphics packages for live events is required.
• Excellent knowledge of hockey and baseball, the players and the formulas used for common statistical categories, strong knowledge of major Pittsburgh sports teams.
• Successful track record of working collaboratively in a team-oriented environment; good ability to take the initiative and must have a strong desire to contribute to the team.
• A demonstrated ability to successfully work under limited supervision in a high pressure and loosely structured, growing and changing environment is essential.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and interpersonal and organizational skills are required.
• Ability to work a flexible work schedule, including nights and weekends.
