What are the responsibilities and job description for the Telehealth Social Worker position at Ness Healthcare?
Northlake Behavioral Healthcare System takes pride in successfully serving our community. As the leader in addiction and mental health care, we are at the forefront of treatments and therapies that provide meaningful results: helping patients lead the life they were meant to and deserve.
Nestled in a wooded retreat on the north side of Lake Pontchartrain, we are just east of the causeway and 45 minutes from New Orleans. We provide long and short-term behavioral health care to adults and adolescents, and acute detox and substance abuse care.
At Northlake Behavioral Health, we want you to shine. We strongly believe in developing your skills and rewarding your hard work. We believe where you work is essential. And while you don’t need to be able to leap tall buildings in a single bound, if you are creative, curious, inspired, and resourceful, you may have what it takes to help lead our team. While you won’t be leaping tall buildings in a single bound, during any given day, as our Telehealth Crisis Clinician you can expect to:
1. Be knowledgeable of SAMHSA's National Guidelines for Behavioral Health Crisis Care System
2. Assist with triaging crisis-related needs presented by the client and collaterals (e.g., community-based provider, police department, hospital)
3. Provide crisis assessments, evaluations, and stabilization services to clients: individuals, couples, families, and groups in person or via telehealth
4. Implement therapeutic interventions aligned with best practices, such as solution-focused brief therapy
5. Be adept at making complex level of care decisions
6. Work closely with the supervisor to ensure that billable services and insurance claims are submitted accurately and promptly
7. Understand case management needs and facilitate linkages/referrals. This requires knowledge of federal, state, and local resources of various agencies providing services in the community
8. Complete and submit all required clinical documentation within the required time frames
9. Ability to work non-traditional hours if needed
10. Other duties as assigned by the Program Supervisor
REQUIREMENTS, BENEFITS, AND COMPENSATION
First and foremost, you have to love what you do. We are in the business of taking care of people, and when we say, “bring your loved one to us, we’ll take care of them,” we mean it. To be successful, you will need to be a strong Clinical assessor screener who works well under pressure and can calm patients down via video telehealth. You will also need:
1. Three [3] years post-masters experience in social services (preferred)
2. Three or more years of experience working with populations exposed to trauma
3. Strong knowledge of unique challenges associated with individuals experiencing homelessness, post-traumatic stress disorder, drug and/or alcohol abuse, disabilities, and/or other mental/emotional disorders
