The responsibility of the Transportation Associate is to ensure operational success of freight orders by supporting the planning objective of building and maintaining mode-optimal and actionable load plans, ensuring load-level compliance, providing coverage oversight, performing risk management activities, and supporting cost and service targets.
To support this objective the Transport Associate will be responsible for a one or multiple of areas of focus including initial load creation, appointment capture/recapture activities, meeting predefined constraints present within the Nestle physical logistics network, and collaborating with partners both internal and external to Nestle to identify solutions that maintain continuity in T-Hub operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with external (non-Nestlé) providers, Nestlé value chain partners, and T-Hub colleagues to develop robust load plans, including ensuring utilization is optimized for freight order creation as opportunity permits
- Coordinate with external (non-Nestlé) providers, Nestlé value chain partners, and T-Hub colleagues to manage reschedule requests and escalate scheduling anomalies
- Perform daily activities and complete demand requirements in accordance with timing and cutoff rules defined by T-Hub
- Execute upon T-Hub strategies and the aligned strategies of partner E2E flows while balancing cost and service targets during daily issue resolution and risk mitigation activities
- Maintain continuous focus on ensuring that all transportation planning/scheduling activities are driven by the goal of achieving on time delivery to the STA date or STA window for all customer orders.
- Provide event reporting data to facilitate stakeholder visibility, drive personal role accountability, and escalate issues as they relate to T-Hub success
Requirements & Skills:
- 1-3 years of experience coordinating activities across multiple internal and external departments.
- 1-3 years of experience with domestic Transportation modes and equipment.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience working in transportation required.
- Strong Knowledge of MS Office applications, Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Excellent problem solving skills: able to work under pressure while prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
- Organized and detail oriented.
- Prior experience working with both LTL and FTL providers.
- Must possess a clear understanding of the basic principles of both LTL and FTL operations.
- Must understand lane and mode transit times to assist in proper load building tasks. Must understand if load plan and mode selection will meet required customer delivery dates
- Some travel may be required
