Provide expert technical support and oversight for:
- The implementation and execution of food safety management systems
- Ensuring compliance to internal policies and external regulations through the implementation of programs such as HACCP, prerequisite programs e.g. sanitation and pest control, GMP's, prevention of cross contamination, etc.
- Maintain and improve factoryHACCP programs, including digital HACCP
- Ensuring that requirements are translated to specific local programs including standard work
- Lead and influence facility HACCP/food safety teams to ensure they are trained to execute food safety responsibilities efficiently and effectively.
ASSURE FOOD SAFETY
- Food Safety Management System Leadership
- Lead food safety programs in the areas of HACCP, PRP's, FSMA compliance and food Fraud
- Leadoverall governance of Food Safety Teams
- Provide technical support on food safety programs and regulatory requirements in the development of new products, innovation work or new business ventures activities.
- Support cooking validation projects
- Develop and implement standards and procedures in support of food safety programs
- Leverage Digitaltools to assess factory food safety performance
Support compliance to internal and external standards
- Support implementation and maintenance of Food Safety Management Systems (FSSC 22000)
- Supportexternal engagement with a mindset of ensuring we stay current with new and existing requirements,
- Liaise with external food safety certification bodies ensuring overall continual improvement of food safety management systems
- Support internal audits, QCA, Audit Verification Program
- Support implementation and maintenance of US FDA FSMA, as well as USDA regulations and directives relating to operational food safety systems.
STRIVE FOR ZERO DEFECT & NO WASTE
- Support implementation and sustainment of digital tools and best practice sharing supporting defect elimination
- Support Cority, PowerBi, POKA,DMO/MMS, SAP.
- Agility with the multiple digital platformsavailable to leverage intelligence and drive improvement
ENSURE DEVELOPMENT OF COMPETENCIES IN QUALITY AND FOOD SAFETY (10%)
- Support training and education
- Develop and execute training on HACCP, food safety plans, surveillance programs and audit management
Basic Qualifications:
- B.S. Degree with M.S. degree preferred, in a field of science related to microbiological food safety and public health.
- 8 years combinedfood industry and food manufacturingexperience.
- Ability to travel 60% of the time throughout the U.S
Skills:
- Excellent Knowledge of quality systems (HACCP, FSMS, ISO9001 and FSSC22000), including designing and implementation
- Practical experience with conducting HACCP studies and implementing HACCP plans. Additional experience withpathogen monitoring, and factory hygienic practices preferred.
- Intimate and up-to date knowledge of microbiological food safety, including emerging pathogens, detection methods and control practices.
- Experience preferred with x-ray and metal detection set up, maintenance and optimization as a first line of defense in identifying foreign contaminants
- Diverse knowledge of inspection and control methods, techniques, and documentation
- Must have strong demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills and results oriented
