Accounting Manager

Manhattan NY – Complete Onsite

Fulltime Permanent Role

Salary :: $115-$125k

We are looking for an Accountant or Controller or Accounting Manager to join our team! You will be responsible for preparing and analyzing financial records for our company.

• Must have Apparel/Retail or Distribution experience
• Must have 10 years’ experience

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and examine accounting records, financial statements, taxes, and other financial reports
• Manage general ledgers, accounts receivable, accounts payable, bank account reconciliations
• Prepare commission statements for clients
• Perform daily point-of-sale and merchant accounts analysis
• Handle credit card chargebacks and inquiries
• File & pay sales taxes
• Review periodic financial statements with CPA
• Perform insurance and payroll audits
• Develop and analyze reporting for business operations and budgets.
• Perform audits, ensuring adherence to standard requirements.
• Create new processes to improve financial efficiency
• Report analysis and findings to the management team
• Develop and maintain financial controls in accordance with the company’s procedures.
• Ensure accounts receivable and accounts payable (electronic and check payments) are tracked and reported; entry and processing of all related financial transactions .
• Prepare and issue client invoices.
• Must be hands on
• Experience with Managing , there will be two direct reports this candidate will manage

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in accounting or other related fields
• Detail and deadline-oriented
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills
• Must be able to work on multiple tasks and be flexible to adjust to a changing work environment.
• Must be operations oriented, able to work collaboratively with each department as well as the management team.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent analytical skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office products (e.g. Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook).
• Experience with QuickBooks accounting software is required
• Degree in Accounting
