Position Summary:
This Sales Account Manager position is with NetScout’s US SLED Sales Team. SLED sales – has focused sales activities targeting the state, local, and education (SLED) sectors. This includes selling products or services to government agencies, municipalities, schools, universities, and other public institutions.
For 2024, we will carve out from the SLED focus:
- University Hospitals/Medical Centers.
- The City of New York, as a named account reporting to East Area.
- The state of California as a named account reporting to West Area.
Therefore, the definition of the SLED sales team will be identifying, qualifying, and closing deals with potential customers in the SLED sector. This involves building relationships with decision-makers in government and educational institutions, understanding their unique needs and challenges, and presenting solutions that meet their specific requirements.
The SLED sales team will need to develop a strong understanding of the regulatory requirements and procurement processes within the SLED sector and a thorough knowledge of their products and services. The SLED team will need to develop and work with channel partners to respond to RFP and procurement process. They should be able to effectively communicate their offerings’ value proposition and demonstrate how their solutions can help SLED customers achieve their goals and objectives.
Ultimately, the goal of the SLED sales team is to increase revenue by driving sales growth in the SLED sector while also establishing themselves as a trusted and reliable partner to their customers in this industry.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Adhere to company policies and ethical guidelines
- Follows a selling process
- Responsible for booking business per the company bookings policies and revenue recognition policy
- Understand the customer’s business and how our products impact their business
- Develops strong relationships and coaches in the accounts
- Develops a pipeline of 4X quota and is constantly prospecting in new or existing accounts
- Consistently calls at multiple levels high and wide
- Works collaboratively with Sales Engineers to ensure ongoing account technical support.
- Follows company strategy and direction
- Substantial travel within the region and occasionally beyond is required
- The candidate will need to be located in DC
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related degree
Experience Requirements:
- 5 years sales experience in networking
- 5 years’ experience in IT
- 2-3 years’ experience in the SLED market segment
- A quantifiable track record of success demonstrated by territory/professional growth
- A solid, articulate understanding of our technology, market, and client profile
- Track record of exceptional and consistent quota achievement
- Proven success, established customers and contacts, and solid territory knowledge
- You will need the skill to independently, work with large, complex accounts
- Ability to source, pursue and close new business
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, you regularly will be required to talk and hear. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift company products and supplies, up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
