Detailed Description
The Engineer Technician-II will perform installation of network hardware infrastructure in educational and professional environments while working to perform more senior level instructional tasks in the workplace. This individual will be mentored by an ENG-III or Supervisor-I level employee and will start to be given more responsibility in the field. This candidate will help lead small projects on the ground and begin to learn the delivery process that has been instilled here at Netsync. While still installing networking hardware to client site, this candidate will be given more responsibility throughout the duration of their time spent here. This Technician will not be put on a set team but rather be in a pool of other ENG-I/II technicians. Area supervisors will ultimately be responsible for assigning these resources to help assist project efforts. This individual will be reviewed from a perspective of SMART goals and action items aligned to employee engagement, customer experience, and operational excellence. A supervisor I-III will review set candidate based on the amount of times they had opportunity to work with he/she during each quarter.

Roles and Responsibilities
- Implementation of new hardware and software in moderate-to-complex client network environments with guidance, review, and QA from Senior Lead Consultants
- Be a team player with the ability to work with peers implementing Collaboration solutions for enterprise sized clients
- Provide Tier 1 support for network and Collaboration infrastructures.
- Demonstrate continued growth and independence when working with clients.
- Support network standards, processes and security at client sites
- Maintain a professional demeanor when dealing with client, work jointly through technicians or leadership.
- Communicate issues with lead/supervisor.
- Work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a clean work environment.
- Communicate with superiors, coworkers, and customers in an effective and respectful manner.
- Install network switches and UPSs in floor racks and access points (APs) on walls and ceilings.
- Patch cables into switches and APs in an orderly, aesthetically pleasing fashion.
- Ability to interconnect fiber jumper “patch” cables.
- Set up voice over IP (VoIP) phones; connect to network, and test functions.
- Participate in the delivery of project supplies.
- Understand Netsync Networking protocol/procedure in the workplace.
- Work with staging teams to help box up and palletize equipment.
- Provide vehicle maintenance and help ensure company owned vehicles are kept clean.
- Manage and troubleshoot complex networking both local and over WAN
- Responsible for implementation and administration of Network hardware with basic knowledge in switching and routing
- Ability to complete task with minimal supervision.
- Run, terminate, and test Ethernet cabling without supervision.
- Ability to operate company vehicles and maintain a valid driver’s license.
- Ability to climb and work on ladders that range up to 35 feet.
- Ability to learn and operate and work on man lift at heights up to 50 feet.
- Ability to deliver customer owned equipment and obtain necessary documentation.
- Must have exposure to technology-related activities, as they relate to network environments.
- Experience in cabling infrastructure installation is very helpful.
Minimum Qualifications/Technical and Educational Requirements
- CCNA, CCENT are a plus but not required.
- High school diploma, associate degree, or bachelor’s degree.
- This role would not include a training budget, but the following certifications would be what Netsync techs should look at receiving in this position on their own dollar.
