New York City based health services organization has an immediate opening for a Network Operations Center Analyst who will monitor systems operations, troubleshoot systems problems, network outages, and software issues, and reporting to leadership team when persistent, unfixable or recurring problems occur. Individual will run diagnostic programs on network and system to pinpoint problems and monitor enterprise health to keep environment operational and secure. NOC Analyst will write regular analytics and network infrastructure reports and replace malfunctioning or underperforming hardware connected to the system. He\She will be responsible for the following:
- Inventory of assets that are monitored (servers, network equipment) – alert leadership when assets need to replaced, repaired and retired.
- Individual will collaborate with system owners for performance threshold gathering
- Create monitoring KPI’s for assets within different tiers
- Collaborate with resource teams when compute resources are underperforming or low.
- Create system suites to monitor – create monitor pools to account the impact of up and down stream relationships
- Monitor trends – alert when deviation from norms occur
- Ensure defined assets are properly monitored – create procedure for intake process
- Provide historical data for comparison baseline with monitored assets and pools
- Good understanding of Windows Event IDs
- Manage PDU’s and other power related issues; Will liaison with facilities team to ensure proper power is supplied along with testing of redundant power
Qualifications and Experience:
- Strong understanding of Microsoft technology (Windows Servers, Active Directory and others)
- Strong understanding of TCP\IP and networking
- Good understanding of virtual technology (VMware, Citrix)
- Understanding of Cloud Computing is a plus
- Ability to script is a plus
- Will perform Root Cause Analysis with system outages
- Strong communicator is a must
- Provide first line of troubleshooting and will escalate as needed
- Outcome Oriented – Successfully manage a set of responsibilities through until its completion
- Capture performance metrics with applications suites
- Will work with various IT teams including but not limited to SQL DBA’s, Application, Development Virtualization, Biomedical and Information Security to provide alerts and threshold data
- Will be involved with activities related to Contingency - planning, execution, and testing are essential to mitigate the risk of system and service unavailability, these duties include but not limited to the following:
- Collaborate with incident coordinator (or assistant) in the event of a critical system outage or incident related to critical system
- Identify preventive controls to reduce the effects of system disruptions can increase system availability and reduce contingency life cycle costs
- Assist with developing recovery strategies to ensure that the system may be recovered quickly and effectively following a disruption
- Provide internal teams with status on uptime and downtime as needed
- Exceptional communication skills
- Expected to travel to all locations to audit and inspect hardware. Remediate any hardware related issues (ex: hard drives, RAM, Switches)
- Ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel.
- High level of attention to detail
- Extremely strong analytical skills are required.
- Must demonstrate good organizational skills and ability to set priorities
- Must be able to demonstrate a high degree of independent access to confidential patient and organizational information and must be able to handle such information appropriately
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems Ability to manage and participate in multiple concurrent projects.
