Position Description:
Network Runners is a highly motivated Aircrew Controller II - Current Operations/Plans Support/Flight & Ground Training/Scheduler to support the 492nd Special Operations Wing (492 SOW) Squadron Level. The Aircrew Controller II will provide continuity and assist with range/airspace scheduling, flying mission tracking, flying and ground scheduling, and related training support as designated by the particular squadron. Additionally, they will possess a high degree of understanding and knowledge of SOF aircrew procedures to include tactics, techniques and procedures, aircrew training, standardization and evaluation, publications management, exercise management, and mobility requirements. This position is located at Duke Field, FL.


Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Current Operations: Assist squadron or group leadership on daily and/or weekly flying and ground operations within the current operations section to include flying schedules, ground schedules, and de-confliction of aircrew currencies, agile combat support personnel currencies, qualifications, upgrades, proficiency, and training.
  • Support and assist the flying program and aid in consolidating information at different times throughout the year and ensuring a balance between the operations tempo and the maintenance tempo.
  • Plans Support: Provide continuity and assist with the planning, flying and ground personnel scheduling, flying mission tracking, and related mission support as designated by the squadron.
  • Liaise with joint and civilian personnel and work closely with operations personnel to determine training and support requirements to ensure aircrew and aircraft can operate off-station from their assigned base of operations.
  • Assist squadron leadership to plan future operations, to include flying schedules and de-confliction of aircrew currencies, agile combat support personnel currencies, qualifications, upgrades, and training priorities; includes Airdrop operations and aircraft support at CONUS and OCONUS airfields.
  • Coordinating with the Aircraft Commander/Mission Commander post mission, to ensure After Action Reports are accomplished and submitted through Wing Command and Control agencies.
  • Flight & Ground Training: Coordinate with key unit stakeholders to consolidate training requirements to support the organization’s requirements submissions.
  • Track aircrew currencies, agile combat support currencies, qualifications, upgrades, training, priorities, and schedule/register aircrew member and agile combat support member training events.
  • Coordinate with applicable stakeholders to determine training costs, schedule training, and identify both ground/flight and identify alternative commercial training sources if required to leadership.
  • Develop familiarity with organizational requirements and their associated costs; represent the organization in justifying requirements and their respective costs.
  • Be proficient in the utilization of ARMS to manage and analyze aircrew flying hours, updating all associated tracking systems with all the aforementioned information.
  • Scheduler: Assist in forecasting, developing, and coordinating with various internal and external agencies the execution of the 492 SOG flying and ground range schedule.
  • Scheduling Airdrop operations, airspace and ground profiles, and Mission Rehearsal Team(s) required for the execution of the scheduled flying line or Off-Station Training.
  • Coordinate with maintenance personnel (military, civilian and contractors) to determine aircraft availability and adjust the flying schedules accordingly.
  • Assist in scheduling aircrew and agile combat support personnel and associated ranges to conduct ground training and operations.
Position Requirements:
  • Must be proficient in the utilization of Center Scheduling Enterprise and PEX programs.
  • Must be proficient in the utilization of ARMS.
  • Ability to respond to last minute changes and resolve problems.
  • Currently possess an active Secret Clearance 
  • Must be a US Citizen.

  • High School Graduate
