Data Scientist - Statistical Geneticist

We are seeking a self-motivated and detailed-oriented data scientist with experience in working with genomic data from different modalities (DNA sequencing, RNA-seq, proteomics, DNA accessibility assays, etc.) and experience working with statistical genetics models for complex datasets. The work will include analyses of human genetics datasets linked to detailed phenotyping, as well as integration of those data with functional genomics evidence to generate biological insights that will be translated to support development of innovative precision medicine to fight debilitating diseases.

Responsibilities:

• Integrate data from large human genetic datasets, including Genome-Wide Association Study (GWAS), WES, WGS, Quantitative Trait Loci (eQTL/pQTL) studies, to support better patient selection and/or predictive biomarkers of patient state.
• Build analytical approaches and perform analysis of complex patient cohorts to enable indication selection, target identification/assessment, understanding of MOA, disease subtypes and patient stratification etc.
• Work closely with the data science, translational, biology and clinical groups to help define strategies to accelerate clinical development and patient stratification.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in statistics, human genetics, genetic epidemiology, computational biology or a related discipline, or M.S. plus equivalent practical experience
• Proficiency in working with large-scale datasets in Python and R. C/C or other language knowledge is a plus
• Solid experience with population genetics (GWAS/eQTL/pQTL analyses, fine-mapping and colocalization, WES/WGS sequencing data analyses, rare and common variants statistical analyses, Mendelian randomization)
• Experience working with genomic data from different modalities (DNA sequencing, RNA-seq, proteomics, DNA accessibility assays, etc.)
• Functional knowledge of machine learning tools, including deep learning

• Highly motivated and collaborative with ability to communicate effectively with people of diverse scientific backgrounds and job functions

Strong verbal and written communication skills to communicate complex concepts in the genomics and genetics area to diverse audiences
