Job Requisition: R-4354 Software Engineer Intern (Open) Primary Location: RESTON Job Description: Our Summer Internship Program will allow you to use & develop the skills you've learned in school while participating in engaging events such as: career development workshops, networking events, and guest speakers throughout this paid 12-week internship beginning in May 2022. Job Description Neustar is in the process of expanding the capabilities of its automated pipeline that supports its data onboarding business. As part of this effort, we are continuing to add support for new workflows and enhancing existing ones. The intern in this role is expected to support building capability for configuring new metadata, as well as supporting the effort to build self-service tools that will drive data driven insights. The intern will also support improvements to the existing testing framework and enhance the overall system quality. There will be opportunities to work in a Big Data environment for supporting new pipeline workflows, generating metrics for operational dashboards and reports. There will also be opportunities to build/enhance API endpoints that are consumed by various services. Other potential opportunities to work on self-serve notebooks to support data science capabilities may be available. Possible Job Duties New Data On-boarding UI/UX Configuration Driven Data On-boarding Test Data Generation and Automated testing use cases. API and Streaming Data Integrations Client Specific Encryption Keys Full integration of SFTPGo into IPaaS Data visualizations for Ops metrics Disaster Recovery scripting and testing – Execution Training videos and user documentation Technical architecture and design documentation Disaster Recovery scripting and testing Communications planning for Strategy, Product Releases etc.… Swagger Implementation Release Management Qualifications/Education In a degree program for Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field Experience with Java Ability to work in a Linux environment Familiarity with relational databases and SQL Familiarity with cloud concepts. Self-motivated and detail-oriented Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Additional Information SQL and database concepts Big Data technologies (Hadoop, Hive, Pig, Map Reduce, Spark) Scripting languages (Perl, Python, JavaScript etc...)
