Nevada Copper (TSX:NCU) is a copper producer and owner of the Pumpkin Hollow copper project. Located in Nevada, USA, Pumpkin Hollow has substantial reserves and resources including copper, gold and silver. Its two fully permitted projects include the high-grade underground mine and processing facility, which is now in the production stage, and a large-scale open pit project, which is advancing towards feasibility status.
Purpose of the Position:
The successful candidate is responsible for monitoring, collecting, and entering dispatch data. Other responsibilities will consist of communicating out varied broadcast alerts, incident and emergency communication facilitation and perform other duties as assigned.
Accountability:
The Underground Dispatch Technician reports to the Nevada Copper Underground Planning General Supervisor.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Monitor and enter into Groundhog, the following underground activities:
- Assignment of underground personnel to equipment.
- Recording and tracking movements of all personnel underground (high/low grade, windrow, and waste) by loaders and trucks (location and destination).
- All equipment downtime and the nature of that downtime.
- All development/production rounds fired and their location.
- All production drill and their location.
- The status of each active location as it changes.
- Responsible for tracking and reporting on the movement of supplies, equipment entering and exiting the mine site.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and integrity of delay codes.
- Maintain the integrity of the Groundhog data, ensure errors are corrected
- Compare data with source documents (as needed), or re-enter data in verification format to detect errors
- Ability to direct underground traffic using radio communication, dispatch systems in order execute the plan.
- Communicate alerts as needed
- Ability to recognize and report on variances

Knowledge/Education:
The incumbent must have proficient knowledge in the following areas:
- High School Diploma is required.
- Experience with computers and phones are required.
- General knowledge of software applications like Excel, Word and Outlook are preferred.
- Proven safety and attendance record required.
- Demonstrated ability to be self-directed, team-oriented and work with minimum supervision required.
- Satisfactory safety, and performance required.
- Must be able to multi-task, and handle high radio, phone, and foot traffic.
- Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
