Orthodontic Wire Bending Technician

New England Orthodontic Laboratory is a small business in Andover, MA. We are inclusive, engaging, creative and our goal is to identify talent for our wire bending team. The Technician will craft all types of orthodontic appliances according to doctor’s prescriptions‬‬‬. This role is 100% hands on and requires a dedication to excellence and craftsmanship.‬ As you gain tenure you are required to learn about basic oral structure, tooth anatomy, tooth numbering systems and approximately 20 basic orthodontic appliances, with many minor variations, and their functions. This position will require overtime hours in times of increased workload.‬ .

We are in immediate need of a Technician who is passionate about technology and enjoys helping people solve their problems. The right candidate must be a highly motivated self-starter with excellent attention to detail and troubleshooting skills. This person will work with a team of extremely intelligent, highly motivated individuals as well as in a fast-paced and changing environment.

Responsibilities:

‪Read prescriptions and identify appliance to be crafted

• Bend and manipulate light gauge wires to specifications, using multiple pliers
• Follow detailed directions
• Problem solve as needed
• Learn when to ask for assistance and when to independently make decisions
• ‪Work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Keep records of production quantities and time
• Work in a stationary position for several hours at a time
• Use hands and fingers to manipulate materials for several hours at a time
• ‪Exhibit great hand-eye coordination

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to position self to move in many different positions; sit, stand, reach, extend 100% of the time.

Must be able to operate, activate, use, prepare, inspect, place, detect and position self to constantly operate hand tools that require manipulation of hands and wrists, such as pliers, soldering iron.

Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
