New Era Technology is a global IT integrator with 2,500 employees delivering Collaboration, Cloud, Data Networking, Security, Large Venue, and Corporate AV and Managed Service Solutions to more than 9,000 customers.
We are looking for a Cabling Infrastructure Project Coordinator to oversee and coordinate low voltage projects at sites on Long Island, NY. Global Financial Services, Healthcare or Pharmaceutical experience is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure appropriate management of all aspects of the Project, Client, and vendor involvement throughout the life of the project.
- Responsible for fulfilling Patching (installation and testing) and MAC requests
- Liaison with data connectivity support to receive patching schedules and requests
- Maintain cabling inventory and cabling documentation (server and ports, structured cabling paths, risers, switches and ports)
- Manage suppliers/vendors in new builds upgrades throughout the campus
- Provide detailed status reports to Management on a regular basis
- Maintain detailed project plan, scope, and associated metrics
- Provide guidance and training for Cable technicians.
- Familiarity with Datacenter technologies, Rackspace, structured cabling systems, Power and cooling a plus
- Participate in On-Call Rotation every few weeks (Monday 8:00 AM to Monday 8:00 AM)
- Working Knowledge of the following:
o Fiber (Single/Multimode), Copper (CAT5e,6,6A), Coax, DAS Antenna Cabling
o Power Distribution Units (PDU’s)
o Proper HVAC/Cooling for IT Spaces
o Methodical troubleshooting of CAT5e/6/6A Connectivity Issues
o Cabling Test Units (Fluke, NetAlly)
Skills required:
- Network Cabling Certification
- Customer Service Focused/Driven mindset with Front-Face interactions
- 3-5 years’ Structured Cabling experience
- Knowledge of LAN/WAN/Wireless networking
- Experience in maintaining cable management databases
- Ability to read Architectural, IT and MEP drawings
This position is on site 5 days per week and pays a salary of $85/K - $90/K per year.
