Requirements
SUMMARY: The primary role of a Service Technician is to assist the Service Manager with the inspecting testing and maintenance of low voltage systems within a facility. Low voltage systems include fire alarm, video surveillance, door access, AV, audio, paging, intercom, nurse call and network. In this supportive role, technicians are provided the opportunity to gain field experience in the systems integration industry and grow within the company. This individual will bridge the gap between people and technology.
HIERARCHY: Service Technician reports to the Service Manager who reports to the Director of Managed Solutions who reports to the President, US Midwest Division.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
- Service, Inspecting, testing, and maintaining of low voltage systems
- Adjust, calibrate, align, and modify circuitry/components and records effects on unit performance
- Demonstrates attention to detail, accuracy, thoroughness, and dependability by following instructions and being an active listener
- Adapts well to changing circumstances or conditions in the field
- Pursues career development opportunities such as training and certification courses
- Always maintains a professional attitude and appearance
- Keeps a clean and organized work environment
- Adheres to all NEW ERA policies in regard to dress code, safety, attendance, etc.
COMPETENCY:
- Prior Fire Alarm service experience
- Preferred CCTV, Access Control/ security experience
- Obtain Fire Alarm NICET certification
- Valid driver’s license
- Reliable transportation
- Familiarity with basic hand tools
- Ability to lift and carry up to 60 pounds
- Ability to stoop, balance, stand, walk, sit and climb and/or work on a ladder
PHYSICAL DEMAND:
- In order to perform the essential functions of this job the Associate must have the ability to stand on a concrete floor for long periods and lift and/or move equipment at least 60-pounds on a repetitive basis.
- The candidate must be able to lift equipment and construction supplies from floor height to over-head while loading/unloading trucks or preparing equipment for installations, service calls, and events.
- Candidate must have the ability to climb and work (stack, adjust, and repair) at heights in excess of 25' before/during installations and job sites.
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: Associates degree (or minimum 3 plus years of experience)
in Fire Alarm Testing and Inspections
LANGUAGE SKILLS: English
WORK ENVIRONMENT: On-site
EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK: 7:00 am – 4:00 pm Monday - Friday
