Job Posting for POLICE CHIEF at New Hanover Township
New Hanover Township, Montgomery County, PA is currently seeking applications for the position of Police Chief. The Township is located in a beautiful section of northern, growing Montgomery County and is financially stable. The Chief manages a department of 11 FT sworn officers and one civilian employee. The Department is moving into a new, state-of-the-art station, and has a population of approximately 13,000 with 21 square miles and a police budget of approximately $1.8 million. The current Chief is retiring after 11 years as the Chief and plans, organizes, supervises all functions of the Police Department to include patrol, investigations, and administration. The person must be community-focused and have the leadership, management, and interpersonal skills to maintain and advance the department’s standing as a progressive, professional, and innovative police agency. Applicants must possess the minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree, and have demonstrated, executive potential with at least fifteen (15) years of law enforcement experience, including a minimum of five (5) years of experience in a command position. The candidate must be certified by MPOETC and possess a current Act 120 certification, or be capable of becoming certified. The salary range is $125-140,000 with an excellent benefit package; exact salary will depend on qualifications/experience. Deadline for applications is noon on September 8, 2022.
