Position Summary:
Under the direction of the Executive Director of Global Initiatives, the International Student Data Coordinator (ISDC) will perform duties of a Designated School Official (DSO) and Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO) for activities associated with international students. The ISDC will be responsible for maintaining data accuracy of international student records in Sunapsis, SEVIS, and Banner. The ISDC will process documentation (Forms I-20 and DS-2019) in an accurate and timely manner to ensure that incoming and current students are serviced properly.
Essential Functions:
Maintains Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) compliance by utilizing a software system to monitor, track, enter information, and perform the following tasks:
Issuance of Initial I-20/DS-2019 for new admits.
Cancelation of I-20s for no-show.
Deferrals of enrollment.
Full-time enrollment requirements and maintenance of immigration status.
Concurrent enrollment and full-time enrollment exemptions.
Transfers, change of educational level, and change of immigration status.
Curricular and optional practical training as well as academic training.
Periodic assessment of document requests.
As Designated School Official, reviews eligibility and prepares the following: Travel signatures and Replacement I-20 documents; Concurrent Enrollment.
Provides support to International Student Advisors for processing of documents, which include, but are not limited to: Curricular practical training, optional practical training (pre, post, and STEM extension).
Program extension.
Dependent documents.
Maintains international student immigration records including monitoring upload management.
Performs audit reviews for quality of digital reproductions on a frequent basis.
Additional Functions:
Provides detailed assistance and information regarding programs and services available to students, faculty, staff, parents, alumni, external agencies, international guests, and the general public; refers students to specialized advising sources and/or to faculty and academic advisors.
Assists international students with document request forms reviewing pertinent procedures, requirements, and completeness of applications.
Performs a variety of administrative & clerical support activities, and performs other duties as assigned.
Collaborates as a team member regarding business practices.
Prerequisite Qualifications:
Experience as a Designated School Official (DSO) or Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO).
Bachelor's degree required. At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be accepted, where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.
Demonstrated knowledge of SEVIS.
Demonstrated knowledge of federal regulations pertaining to OPT, CPT, and STEM extension.
Must have excellent written and verbal skills.
At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be exempted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.
