What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dental Office Front Desk Receptionist (Temp) position at New View Dental?
Our front desk has a family emergency and needs to be out from Aug 5th-8th.
6 MONTHS EXPERIENCE WORKING AT DENTAL OFFICE REQUIRED. MUST know how to process insurance, send claims, and check benefits.
Hours are Monday: 11-7, Tuesday 9-4, Thursday 10-7.
Job Requirements:
- Check patients in and update all information in patient chart
- Check out patients as they leave practice (collects monies due, verify chart, sends insurance, schedules for any treatment to be done, checks recall and tx plans)
- Open office each morning and start up computers
- Coordinate staff morning huddles
- Work all A/R’s
- Monitor aged accounts receivable monthly
- Responsible for overseeing schedule in computer and maintaining it monthly with doctors’ schedules
- First to answer phones and schedule appointments
- Answer insurance and account questions on balances/transactions
- Verify patients' insurance coverage
- Post insurance payments
- Run electronic claims daily
- Run monthly billing statements
- Run monthly reports from Open Dental
- Greet patient with enthusiasm and a huge smile, call patient by first name!
- Verify treatment plans and financial information to patient upon arrival
- Notify clinical staff of schedule changes and patient arrivals
- Maintain a short call list to fill schedule
- Prepare charts and route slips for the next day
- Call and handle no show or reschedule patients
- Perform FA’s on all patients needing treatment in the office
- Handle, evaluate and fix denied claims
- Submit, process and call patient regarding pre-determinations
- All other front desk duties
