CNC Operator/Fabricator
JOB DESCRIPTION
This position reports directly to the Fabrication Supervisor and operates CNC and other machines; including, but not limited to mill, lathe, laser, brake press, saws, drills to machine parts required dimensions utilizing the appropriate tooling and practices.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Uses CNC programmed machines and associated tooling in an efficient and safe manner to optimize production.
Reports hazards associated with the equipment or its operation to the Safety Department, Maintenance Department, or Supervisor.
Maintains accuracy of product by following blue prints, templates and known practices.
Maintains/produces a level of inventory of finished parts that will minimize production delays.
Cleans and maintains an orderly work area.
Communicates effectively with other workers to direct personal workflow.
Inspects own work and makes adjustments when needed.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of CNC and/or fabrication equipment and its operation.
Good communication skills relative to supervisor and other related departments.
Math skills including a good understanding of fractions and angles.
Ability to read a tape measure, dial caliper and other precision measuring devices.
Ability to read blue prints.
Ability to lift 50 pounds.
Ability to stand on concrete in one place for an extended period of time.
Ability to utilize tooling and adjust machines to produce accurate parts in an efficient manner.
