Job Posting for Quality Inspector - 2nd Shift at New York Air Brake
Essential Duties:
Understand and use various tools and measuring devices to evaluate the quality of parts per drawings. (variable gages, attribute gages, SPC gages, torque wrenches, tensile tester, ozone machine, flexibility test apparatus, etc.)
Understand & follow the written and unwritten policies and procedures associated with the department. Examples: Quality manual procedures for; Managing non-conforming material, Receiving Inspection, Performing various audits, etc.
Understand & operate SAP to perform transactions (Q2, Q3, Q4, etc.) and investigate material (QA32, QM01, MMBE, LS24, MB51, etc.)
Strive to attain the safety, quality, production, and housekeeping goals for the department
Follow the ESD (electro-static discharge) procedures.
Maintain lab equipment to ensure top performance and monitor calibration adherence
Calibration of gauges
Verify and sort parts per Blueprint requirements as needed
Perform cell audits
Follow MRB and Arrest process
Provide measurement and testing support for internal and external quality issues
Ensure the conclusions from investigations are properly supported by facts, make recommendations for corrective and preventative actions that address the root cause, and all aspects of the investigations are thoroughly documented.
Assist and train personnel as requested.
Document all AAR testing
Provide problem solving and failure analysis support to production, quality, and engineering as the technical expert.
