New York Tech seeks an Assistant Director of Enrollment Services, located at the Long Island (Old Westbury, NY) campus.

Reporting to the Director of Financial Aid, the Assistant Director of Enrollment Services will provide exceptional customer service to students through cross-functional responsibilities in the offices of Admissions, the Bursar, Financial Aid, and the Registrar.  The Assistant Director serves as a front-line counselor to current and prospective students and will also be responsible for student service processing functions in each office.

Responsibilities

• Ability to forecast and anticipate the next steps in the student lifecycle, alert students to upcoming deadlines, quickly identify potential issues, and work with management to address, streamline, or automate processes as needed
• Assist with virtual and in-person events for prospective and current students including, but not limited to, information sessions, Open Houses, financial aid workshops, etc.
• Communications with students via email, phone, in-person, virtual, etc.
• Assist students and families in securing financial aid for higher education costs
• Assist in determining financial aid eligibility, including review and analysis of financial information, performing federally/institutionally required verification of federal application data, creating financial aid packages, and communicating aid offers and financial aid process to students
• Knowledge of federal and state financial aid programs
• Provide support to the Admissions team through outreach to prospective first-year, transfer and graduate students at all points of the application cycle (incomplete, admitted, deposited); 
• Assist applicants in a seamless transition from admitted to enrolled; secure missing and/or final documents; remove barriers for new and returning students to ensure a seamless registration and tuition payment process;
• Provide support to the Bursar’s office to include outreach and collection efforts
• Assist with student registration and graduation certification
• Any duties as assigned by supervisor

   

This position may require work on both our New York City and Long Island campuses, as in line with NY Tech policy, and may be eligible for some remote work. This position may require some night and/or weekend hours.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required
• 1-3 years of directly related experience preferred
• Proficiency in MS Office, experience with a student information system is preferred, knowledge of PeopleSoft is a plus
• Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills with the ability to work under pressure and multi-task
• Bilingual a plus
