Job Summary/Description
The Development Associate for Newborn Hope will report directly to and work closely with the Executive
Director. This associate will have a profound understanding of non-profit organizations, operations, development and have an innate ability to develop and foster meaningful relationships with the community, donors, and other organizations that support the mission of Newborn Hope.

Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience: Three years minimum experience in development and administration at a nonprofit or smaller organization, reporting to upper management and working effectively with a board of directors.
Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in similar role
Skills:
Superb writing and verbal communication skills
Strong time-management skills and the ability to adhere to timelines and organize multiple projects at once
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other office productivity tools including database management, with aptitude to learn new software and systems, if necessary
Experience in fundraising and donor stewardship / outreach
Comprehensive fundraising event planning, including sponsorship solicitation, logistics, budget, volunteers, auction procurement, and detailed management of timelines.
Flexible team player willing to do what it takes to get the job done; adaptable and enjoys a challenge

Job Responsibilities/Essential Functions
Organization’s administrative and bookkeeping records, including but not limited to monthly expenses on
QuickBooks, account reconciliation with organization’s VP of Finance, billing, governance requirements, insurance, and liability
Database entry and donor management
Confidentiality when working with donor information and private materials.
Administrative duties as requested by Board of Directors to include the communications calendar, board meeting calendar and maintenance of board documents
Event coordination and sponsorship renewal/solicitation for two major special events: Sips at Sunset (in
Pueblo in September) and the November Noel Gala (in Colorado Springs in November)
Attends all board meetings- draft board meeting minutes
Maintains professionalism and integrity when interfacing with Newborn Hope donors, vendors, volunteers, and the Board of Directors.
Advocate of the Newborn Hope mission and vision
Flexibility to work some evenings and weekends with functional home-office workspace
Salary range: $20,000-$28,000 depending on experience
