Position Title: Process Tech
Reports to: Technical Supervisor
Shift: Nights (5:45pm to 6am-3on,2off,2on,3off rotating schedule)
Location: Winfield, Kansas
Job Summary:
The Process Technician monitors,
troubleshoots and makes minor repairs on machines and auxiliary equipment. They diagnose and make changes necessary to
ensure quality product is being produced in a safe and efficient manner. They
perform machine and equipment changeovers and prepare equipment for production
(i.e. molds, tooling, fixtures).
Process Technician must be able to flex between “process” and “setup” roles,
performing either role for an extended period of time, OR, may be required to perform both roles
within a shift; for example, completing changeovers in the morning, and
startup/lineouts in the afternoon.
Job Duties:
- Startup/lineout machines and perform appropriate “First
Part” activities for all mold changes, color changes, and job changes including
appropriate paperwork and quality checks.
- Troubleshoot molding, quality, or mechanical issues to
assure parts are manufactured to correct quality specifications, at
correct cycle times, and labor contents.
- Perform preventative maintenance on molds including
scheduled “in-press” mold cleaning and maintenance.
- Identify, tag,
report, and communicate issues with molds, machines, and auxiliary
equipment that do not meet efficiency, quality, or housekeeping
requirements/expectations.
- Complete all required documentation to record process
changes, quality issues, downtime, lineout/startup times, on corresponding
forms, technical reports, etc.
- Perform mold changes
and tooling changes in an efficient and safe manner. Assure installation is complete,
correctly watered, and all additional connections are complete, including
airlines, gates, hot runner cables, etc.
- Assure miscellaneous
components (such as mold clamps, ejector rods, hoses, etc) are correctly
removed or stored after changeover process is completed.
- Changeover robotic
end of arm tooling and return to designated storage locations.
- Provide recommendations, solutions, and implement
processes for continuous improvement.
- Proficient in all
safety and housekeeping requirements.

Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum of one-year stable and
verifiable work history required.
Demonstrated mechanical capability and
a minimum of two-years’ experience in a technical related field required.
Technical certificate preferred.
High school diploma/GED required.
Must possess basic math skills.
Must possess good communication skills to ensure that
clear and concise information is communicated as required.
Must be able to read and interpret equipment manuals,
document and implement work orders to perform required maintenance and
service.
Must be a good listener, having the
ability to receive instructions over two-way radios, and other communication
devices.
Must be a self-starter, self-motivated and able to work
independently.
Must be able to multi-task.
Must be able to
become certified on operating forklift, scissor lift snorkel lift and overhead
crane
