Position Title: Logistics Supervisor Shipping
Location: Pataskala, OH
Shift: Monday – Friday (hours may vary)
Reports to: Operations Manager
Under minimal supervision, the Logistics Supervisor works with the Manager to ensure superior execution of the Distribution Center’s mission of providing on time, accurate and efficient delivery of merchandise to Yankee Candle customers. Acts as the primary point person on the floor for employees and ensures that they are following the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and working in compliance with standards within the department, at the same time maintaining a safe, healthy, and productive work environment. The shipping supervisor is responsible for accurately processing and shipping our client’s products out of the warehouse to the customer This person is advanced in all things related to operations, leadership, coaching, mentoring, associate advocate, efficient customer service and creating culture of servant leadership.
Responsibilities:
- Plans and monitors staffing levels with Operations Manager, Site Director, and Human Resource Manager to ensure adequate staffing for present and future needs. Actively participates in the hiring process.
- Provides training, coaching and direction regarding departmental processes and procedures. Oversees the development of associates by ensuring they are cross trained, given the proper tools to do their jobs, and can contribute to the total operation.
- Monitors productivity, accuracy and utilization of employees with direction and support from the Manager. Updates manager and recommend solutions regarding issues on the floor impacting warehousing functions and/or employees. Takes initiative and implements solutions in the absence of the manager or in an emergency situation.
- Provides excellent on-time customer service to internal/external customers. Demonstrate an overall positive and productive environment amongst employees and protects the integrity of privileged information shared in confidence.
- Works safely in order to help preserve the safety and health of coworkers, guests and visitors as well as their own. Follows all Company safety/accident policies and procedures and adheres to all applicable safety laws and regulations. Notifies management promptly of any safety hazards/violations or accidents/injuries. Participates in safety training. Properly uses and maintains Personal Protective Equipment. Encourages employees to follow all safety procedures.

Key Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent experience
- Minimum 3 years Fulfillment experience in a high-volume environment with previous leadership experience.
- Ability to read/write in the English language
- Experience in analyzing warehouse processes and making recommendations for improvement; knowledge of office and logistics software; basic arithmetic skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to think on your feet, work independently, make decisions and take appropriate actions as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Distribution/warehouse experience preferred.
- CFR-49 Certified and experience in DOT regulations for shipping limited quantity items.
- Parcel and LTL shipping experience.
- Familiarity with FedEx and UPS shipping vias and processes.
