What are the responsibilities and job description for the Web Designer position at Newkleo LLC?
Job Description:
- Perform an accessibility audit of external and internal websites and web applications.
- Develop and implement accessibility features for web applications and software.
- Evaluate accessibility of external platforms that host institutional content, such as YouTube.
- Troubleshoot, evaluate and recommend assistive software and hardware.
- Establish guidelines, best practices and standards related to designing and maintaining accessible websites, IT software systems and online materials.
- Work in collaboration with the accessible transit services, IT services and the other departments.
Design and Production:
- Work with internal departments to develop accessible templates and tools for web production.
- Develop captioning resources for providing information regarding captioning videos published on institutional websites.
- Identify and implement tools for monitoring website accessibility.
- Create an accessibility report and presentations as needed.
Skills required:
- Four years of web design and production experience on a web development team.
- Three years of web accessibility analysis, design, and development experience.
- Experience in a higher education environment is preferable.
- Valid Florida Driver's License or be able to obtain one within in 10 days of hire of moving to the State of Florida.
Education required:
- Bachelor's degree in Information or Graphic Design, Human-Computer Interaction or related field.
- Bachelor's degree in another field and three years of experience. Master's degree preferred.
Working Hours:
- Mon – Fri 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- CLP: 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM
