What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dock Pusher - 4:30AM-1PM position at Newrest?
The Dock Pusher is responsible for ensuring that all the carts are out on the dock in a timely manner for the Drivers and Driver Helpers to load on to the trucks. They will also assist with Icing the carts. Shift needed: 4:30AM to 1:00PM pay rate $16.20 .50 cold differential
Essential Functions
• Grab straps from strap bin and ensure that extra straps are properly placed in holding area.
• Strap the appropriate carts together per flight with the provided straps.
• Ensure that all carts for the flight are strapped together.
• Push the carts for the flight out to the dock in timely and orderly manner.
• Ensure the carts in the dock are organized and placed in a manner easy to load to truck.
• Regular and timely attendance is expected for the position.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Additional Functions
• Ice carts and assist icers in any way when not strapping carts or pushing carts out to dock.
Education/Experience Requirements
• High School Diploma preferred
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
• Ability to work indoors in varying temperatures (Cold)
• Ability to pass all required airport security clearance
• Dexterity to lift and maneuver loads (45 lbs / 20 kg )
• Ability to handle pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to adapt to new operating procedures
• Awareness to safety risks
• Ability to communicate issues and knowledge gaps
