What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Manager position at Newrest?
Newrest is looking for a Project Manager who will be responsible for interacting with the client representatives and for ensuring the client needs are met and communicated to the operations team. This person must have in-flight catering experience. Someone who has been an operations manager within in-flight catering would be an ideal candidate. We are willing to consider out-of-state candidates and help with relocation.
Many responsibilities are project-based that require proper planning and follow-through. Furthermore, this is a hands-on type of position that requires much interaction with all types of individuals. This individual consistently looks for ways to improve the customer service experience and maintain the quality and safety Newrest standards. This individual’s leadership will need to be expert with the ability to develop, train, and hold people accountable through clear expectations. The ideal candidate will be assertive and influence through persuasion and data. This individual will need to be have strong problem-solving and analytical skills and know how to navigate through difficult conversations. This is a full-time, on-site position.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelors in Operations Management, Business Management, or related field preferred
- 5 years’ experience in inflight catering
QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to effectively collaborate with site operations, functional leaders and external clients and vendors
- Excellent presentation skills with ability to expertly use PowerPoint
- Excellent analytical skills with ability to expertly use Excel
- Excellent written and grammatical skills
- Ability to effectively handle conflict and de-escalate emotional charged situations
- Good knowledge of investigation procedures and root cause analysis
- Understanding of lean manufacturing principles and operational processes
- Strategic thinker with creative and excellent problem solving and decision-making skills
- Resilient self-starter, who can act independently and learn quickly within a rapidly evolving environment
- Detail-oriented and ability to see big picture
