Job Description
This position represents the rare opportunity to get in on the ground floor with an emerging broadcast network. As NLSE repositions itself into a sports and entertainment network, the Producer will be involved in unique production efforts including live game production, taped programming, and shoulder content for both linear and social outlets. This position will be largely responsible for running point on these production efforts, overseeing operational, technical, and content aspects. Qualified candidates must enjoy the collaborative process and be able to work well with other team members, including live production staff, graphic artists, and social media experts.
Responsibilities
- Help oversee operational and technical aspects of assigned project
- Actively partake in content creation efforts including live video shooting and editing
- Manage all on-site activity of crews for assigned projects, serving as the field producer
- Keep productions on schedule
- Act as a point of communications involving specific sport assignments as it relates to all vendors, league, and governing bodies
- Work closely with the production manager in the interpretation and application of technical, operational, and cost standards that may impact the accuracy, cost, and timeliness of assigned events
- Write and or produce taped shows, segments, and shoulder programming
- Compose run of shows for sports programs and distribute to the production team
- Work with managing bodies to keep production team on task
- Help manage on-site activity with crew during live broadcasts
- Work with the production manager on production logistics to make sure we have necessary crew and gear in place
- Ensure that appropriate timelines are met for technical and financial planning
- Communicate daily with Production leadership on all aspects of content development and production
- Help develop new programming opportunities
- Assist in development and implementation of new technologies that can be used to up production value and maximize ROI
- Attend industry events as it relates to the sport category
- Facilitate communications involving specific sport assignments as it relates to all vendors, league, and governing bodies
- Maintain a working knowledge of High-Definition broadcast standards present and future developments
Required Qualifications
- 5 years of experience as a video producer and editor
- 2 years of experience as a producer of sports content
- Videography experience, including live video shooting and editing experience with Adobe Creative Suite video tools
- Detailed knowledge of production workflow including codecs, HD specifications and asset management
- Experience working with various camera platforms such as Sony FS/FX series, Canon C-series, Arri Alexa/Alexa Mini and RED
- Must be highly organized and have attention to detail
- Must be self-motivated and have ability to meet tight deadlines
- Excellent writing, spelling, grammar, and copy-editing skills
- Ability to multi-task and coordinate several projects and responsibilities simultaneously
- Ability to build relationships with athletic departments and sports organizations to enhance coverage
Preferred Qualifications:
- Live sports shooting and editing experience
- Experience on shooting on Broadcast Camera platforms in live studio setting
- Prior experience in pre-production processes
- A passion for sports related stories
- A desire to tell stories of diversity, equity, and inclusion
Salary : $85,300 - $108,000
