Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Surgical Technologist to join our dynamic team at a leading healthcare facility. This role is pivotal in supporting surgical operations by preparing and organizing the operating room, instruments, and equipment, and assisting surgical teams during procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare the operative site by aseptically cleaning and clipping the patient as needed.
- Arrange sterile setups for surgical procedures, ensuring all necessary supplies and equipment are available and in working order.
- Perform counts of sponges, sharps, instruments, and miscellaneous items to maintain surgical safety.
- Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and assist during procedures by passing supplies and equipment and managing surgical specimens.
- Ensure all instruments and equipment are properly cleaned, decontaminated, and sterilized before and after procedures.
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control policies, AORN guidelines, and OSHA regulations to ensure a safe work environment.
- Manage inventory of sterile supplies, instruments, and equipment, ensuring availability and readiness for surgery.
- Setup and manage the instrument table(s) and operating room according to the surgical procedure and surgeon's preferences.
- Assist in positioning, draping, and preparing the patient for surgical procedures.
- Support the surgical team in implementing invasive therapeutic and diagnostic procedures.
- Clean and prepare surgical instrumentation for transportation to the decontamination area post-operation.
- Collaborate with team members to maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Knowledge of sterile and aseptic techniques.
- Understanding of human anatomy, surgical procedures, and the required tools and technologies.
- Effective communication skills to interact with team members and handle the demands of a surgical environment.
- Ability to respond quickly and accurately to the dynamic needs of the surgical team and patient care scenarios.

- Preferably less than 1 year of experience, but new graduates are welcome.
