SCIENCES MANAGER
Job purpose
The Sciences Manager plans and implements all aspects of Next Science chemical and biological sciences which include Chemistry, Microbiology and Cellular Biology.
Duties and responsibilities
The primary responsibilities of this position at Next Science will be the following:
1) Organization of Chemistry Programs
a. Development of Chemistry testing
b. Scheduling and prioritization of testing
c. Writing test protocols, reports, and test methods
d. Implementation of QOPs for stability studies, GMP, validation and verification of methods
e. Analysis of data
i. Statistical analysis requirements
f. Work with external testing partners to develop and complete additional chemistry tests
2) Organization of Biological Science Programs
a. Development of Microbiology and Cell Biology testing
b. Scheduling and prioritization of testing
c. Writing test protocols, reports, and test methods
d. Implementation of QOPs for cell maintenance
e. Analysis of data
i. Statistical analysis requirements
f. Work with external testing partners to develop and complete additional biological tests
g. Ensure compliance with biosafety level 2 requirements
3) Management of Chemistry and Biological Science Staff
a. Hires, supervises, and evaluates all chemistry and biological science staff
b. Ensures data integrity and testing procedures are up to the Next Science standard
c. Encourage growth and development in lab staff
Qualifications
Qualifications include:
- A Bachelor of Science degree in a biological, chemical, or other related science
- A solid understanding of quality and regulatory requirements as it relates to laboratory requirements and their application to product development
- 4 years of relevant laboratory and analytical experience
- 2 – 4 years of supervisory experience
- 2 – 5 years of experience working in a quality management system
