POSITION SUMMARY:
The Business Office Manager will perform and oversee the successful and timely completion of all business office functions as prescribed by the internal Business Office Policy and Procedure, within the parameters established by state and federal regulation, and as necessary to achieve the financial and operational goals of the facility. The Business Office Manager will support an environment that promotes optimal efficiencies, staff retention and superior quality of business office employees.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs all billing and collecting task for Private Pay, Medicaid, Hospice and Managed Care. Assists with Medicaid Pending application process as needed.
- Performs and oversees the completion of all business office related tasks
- Reviews, analyzes and interprets financial data to monitor progress toward established goals; identifies deterrents to success and implements improvements as necessary to enhance efficiencies and results; facilitates effective problem resolution and development of business office goals and objectives.
- Participates in the development and successful implementation of plan(s) of improvement as indicated, recommended or required by Business Office Consultant, Regional Director of Business Office Operations, Internal Audit, or any other company or regulatory compliance consultant or entity. Communicates progress toward goals and continuing obstacles to Executive Director and group management team, verbally or in writing, as dictated by company standards.
- Provides training to business office employees that is necessary to successful job performance, consistent with company standards and expectations, and facilitates cross-functional awareness and proficiencies
- Promotes open communications between internal and external customers and employees to enhance cooperative efforts, improve business office performance and assure consistently positive outcomes; maintains a strong working rapport with critical contacts and liaisons such as Medicaid caseworkers, resident representatives, third party administrator representatives, facility department managers and group personnel
- Participates in cash acceleration and any other special projects as warranted and directed by Executive Director
- Coordinates, facilitates and participates in periodic meetings and training workshops as assigned
- Keeps abreast of current state, federal and company policies, procedures and regulations
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate degree in accounting, healthcare administration or business management preferred or a high school diploma with equivalent work experience
- Fundamental knowledge of basic accounting principles and agency reimbursement programs.
- Healthcare billing experience in long term care setting, required
- Collection experience, preferred
- Supervisory experience, preferred
- Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance
