NextCare is looking for a healthcare IT Systems Engineer.

Responsibilities
The Systems Engineer (SE) is responsible for maintaining the physical and virtual server infrastructure along with network and storage. In addition, the SE demonstrates technical knowledge of infrastructure and communications processes and supports system defined objectives relative to NextCare's business and healthcare requirements. Interacts as part of a team and is able to plan, design, implement and support some company Information Technology infrastructure, networks, hardware and applications.

- The Systems Engineer (SE) is responsible for maintaining the physical and virtual server infrastructure along with network and storage
- Working with vendors to correct hardware/software failures and ensuring proper change management procedures are followed
- Position performs other duties as assigned and may be supporting after hours on-call rotation
- The SE understands the business and technology needs of the organization and looks for improvements from customer feedback and knowledge of business processes, technology and system capabilities
- SE will assist project teams with technical issues in the Initiation, Planning and implementation phases of our standard Project Management Methodology
- These activities include the definition of needs, benefits, and technical strategy; research & development within the project life-cycle; technical analysis and design; and support of operations staff in executing, testing and rolling-out the solutions
- Participation on projects is focused on smoothing the transition of projects from development staff to production staff by performing operations activities within the project life-cycle
- Set up and installation of new servers and network equipment
- Identification and resolution of network and related system performance problems
- Administer multiple server environment such as Microsoft Servers running: SQL Windows and Linux, Unix and Oracle
- Troubleshoot server and workstation software and hardware
- Support the back office and application servers
- Produce and maintain documentation of the server infrastructure and environment including computers, printers, and telecommunication equipment
- Maintain core components of Windows server infrastructure, including WINS, DNS, DHCP, File and Print services, Terminal Services licensing, and Active Directory
- Maintain Security and OS Patch Management level on servers
- Manage Anti-virus software upgrade, deployment and maintenance
- Perform hardware installations, upgrades and swaps
- Resolution of escalated hardware failures and server outages, including data recovery
- Interface with external vendors as necessary to address and resolve support issues
- Act as technical contact on projects requiring cross platform integration with multiple departmental dependencies
- Maintain knowledge base of current technology with continuous self-study
- Create, change, and delete users accounts per request
- Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups
- Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions
- Perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery tapes or disks are created, and media is recycled and sent off site as necessary
- Treats patients and co-workers consistent with the NextCare Mission Statement, Vision, Values and Performance Standards.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or described in Company policy.
Essential Education, Experience and Skills:
Education: Minimum of Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related discipline or equivalent experience
Experience:
- Minimum of four years of experience in information system or systems administration
- Minimum of two years ITIL process experience and knowledge
- System design and analysis experience
- Familiar with industry standard infrastructure and networking equipment
Skills:
- Strong multi-tasking and prioritization skills
- Demonstrated analytical thinking, adaptability, enthusiasm and motivation
- Must have a high degree of flexibility to alter plans or change tasks at any given moment
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting
- Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills to be able to interact effectively with people from all social echelons
