Position Specific Description
NextEra Energy is currently seeking a Solar Fleet DC Field Engineer who can apply diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices to a broad variety of assignments and fields related to solar power generation. This candidate will need to make decisions independently regarding engineering issues and processes. This position requires supervision only related to high level objective and critical issues
Areas of responsibility will mainly focus on Tracker system and tracker system support and analysis, including but not limited to:
- Managing a fleet of tracker system technology issues for several manufacturer as a subject matter expert (SME)
- Working with tracker system software and analyzing fault data to optimize generation
- Assisting the operations team with general tracker support and troubleshooting
- Conducting root-cause analysis (RCA) for critical or persistent issues at solar sites
- Acting as the single point of contact for several tracker manufacturers to provide support to the operations team
- Troubleshooting solar field issues
- Creating reliability failure rate curves for component level failures to develop a spare parts strategy
Preferred qualifications are:
- Bachelors or higher in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- At least 2 years of experience working in solar
- Experience conducting RCAs and working with vendors
