What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assembler 2 position at NexTier?
POSITION SUMMARY
The primary role of the Assembler 2 is to be responsible for the handling, cleaning, de-burring, marking and packaging of machined parts that will be utilized in oil field products. This is the experienced level Assembler position. As such, the employee will perform moderately complex assembly work under general supervision.
Key Accountabilities
Prepares and performs moderately complex assembly work by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
Positions parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements.
Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies.
Will need to identify and use with proficiency the appropriate tools to prepare, strip and crimp appropriate wires used in assembly
Prevents/corrects assembly issues by altering dimensions to meet specifications;
Notifies supervisor of any issues, concerns, or need for additional resources.
Must be able to perform at an average of 70% efficiency or better.
Will need to maintain labor records transactions - utilizing company MRP (Great Plains).
Keeps equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs. Must be able to abide by all company SOP’s and safety regulations.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and blueprints.
Ability to identify various parts used in assembly of products.
Must possess ability to sit for long periods.
Ability to utilize basic hand and power tools safely.
Communication and interpersonal relationships to interact effectively with co-workers and supervisors to convey information and to receive work direction.
Ability to read, write, comprehend and follow written instructions in English.
Ability to establish and maintain effective business relationships with teammates and supervisors.
