What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Engineer Trainee position at NexTier?
Position Summary
The Field Engineer Trainee will learn firsthand the necessary daily activities to perform a well completions operations and stimulation treatment. The training will be done predominantly on well-site locations with an emphasis on hands-on training. Training will begin with safe equipment maintenance and operating procedures. The Field Engineer Trainee will then progress to completion of fluid training through classes, onsite, and at the lab. The final phase of training will take place in the data van under the supervision of an engineer or a supervisor. The Field Engineer Trainee will learn the equipment operating and data analyzing software used to complete a stimulation job.
Essential Functions
• Learn well site safety.
• Learn major components of the equipment.
• Learn proper operating procedures for equipment.
• Assist equipment operators with maintenance.
• Assist equipment operators with daily duties.
• Learn all completion fluid systems.
• Learn proper proppant and fluid testing practices.
• Assist Data Pump Operators/Engineers and Operations Engineers with pre-job testing and setup.
• Learn equipment operating and simulation software.
• Assist engineer in proppant and chemical ordering.
• Assist the engineer in completing a stimulation job.
• Communicate frequently with your mentor and your supervisor.
• Learn Company integrated completions equipment while on location. Learn Company Standard Operating Procedures and become familiar with data acquisition and modeling systems.
• Comply with all Company safety rules and Company policies.
• Attend project team and technical review meetings at the district level, as possible.
• Learn and maintain a good knowledge of oilfield chemistry.
• Perform all other job duties assigned.

• Ability to proficiently use Microsoft Office applications, Excel, MS Word, etc...

Minimum Required Education
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
