Job Title:SW QA Engineer
Location:Sunnyvale, CA
Reports To: Director of E2E QA
Position Summary:
As a member of the E2E QA team, you will participate in the product engineering process that facilitates release of NextNav’s mission-critical MBS (Metropolitan Beacon System), Altitude Network, Network Operation System and mobile client SW. As a SW QA engineer, you will contribute to QA team through development and execution of functional, system, regression tests as well as field testing for various SW&HW product release.
Essential Functions:
- Requirement analysis, test case development, test script creation and execution, tracking of defects and reporting of test results
- Develop and perform manual/automated tests for Mobile Applications (Android, iOS and other OS platforms) and AWS Cloud based server’s product
- Create test plans and test cases which encompass all NextNav’s E2E Altitude System Test/QA & field test
- Work with project teams through the design and test stages to ensure released products are strictly adhere to business requirements.
- Assess product testability and implement automated processes to increase testing efficiency and reliability
- Logs detailed and accurate defect reports and follows the defects through to resolution and closure
- Provide support to operation team as a 2nd line of support
- Provide support to product demo & trials
Education, Experience, Skills and Attributes:
- BS degree and 2 years of software development/test and/or QA experience
- Must be able to clearly communicate technically complex issues, resolve conflicts, and participate projects over cross functional teams
- Hands on Experience on Mobile application (Android, iOS and/or KaiOS) E2E tests is a must
- Location-based services (LBS) and/or GPS testing/work experience preferred
- Experience in test automation of Mobile App a plus: Selenium/Appium, Java, Python
- Thorough understanding of the defect-life-cycle/process and industry standard defect tracking tools.
- Strong team player, self-motivated, self–directed, action oriented and able to learn quickly
- Ability to multitask, rapidly respond to changes in requirements as well as operate with project deadlines and time constraints
- Hands on experience with software, hardware, testing and failure analysis methodologies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
- Prior experience in DB, MySQL or postgres desirable
- Domain knowledge of IT infrastructure and knowledge of Linux systems a plus
