Nexus Square is looking for a Tax Analyst. This position plays an integral role in our accounting/tax client service department and will assist with the preparation of individual, corporate, partnership, and trust tax returns; quarterly estimated income tax payments; perform miscellaneous bookkeeping functions including general accounting and adjusting journal entries, and carry out various tax research and consulting projects as needed.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform weekly/monthly bookkeeping tasks including bank reconciliations, posting manual journal entries, and preparing financial statements.
  • Preparing Individual, Corporate, Partnership, Fiduciary, and other tax returns
  • Engage with clients in person, via phone and email to answer questions in a professional manner
  • Research complex tax-related questions when needed
  • Resolution of client federal or state tax notices (communicate with IRS and other State and government agencies via phone to resolve tax matters)
  • Execute tax scenarios to assist the client with tax planning
  • Manage client’s payroll accounts and file quarterly and yearly payroll tax returns
  • Calculate and submit monthly sales tax prepayment and returns

Required Qualifications:

  • 3 - 5 years of experience (accounting/tax firms)
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or equivalent job-related experience
  • CPA License or EA
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently with a professional attitude
  • Experience with Lacerte, QuickBooks Online, Xero, Gusto and Google applications.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
