POSITION SUMMARY
Drives gasoline, liquefied gas, or electric powered industrial truck equipped with lifting devices such as forklift, boom, scoop, lift beam and swivel hook, fork grapple, clamps, elevating platform, or trailer hitch, to push, pull, lift, stack, tier, or move products, equipment, or materials by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (The section is not intended to be an all-inclusive list and NGK Ceramics reserves the right to include other duties as assigned):
- Moves levers or joysticks and presses pedals to drive the truck and to control the movement of the lifting apparatus
- Positions forks, lifting platform, or other lifting device under, over, or around loaded pallets, skids, boxes, products or materials; and transports load to designated areas
- Unloads and stacks material by raising and lowering the lifting device.
- Supplies materials to team members in various processing and production lines, as needed
- Weighs materials or products and records the weights on tags, labels, or production schedules
- Loads or unloads materials onto or off of pallets, skids, or lifting devices
- Removes outside dust collection bags as needed, places the full bags in the designated hopper; and replaces the appropriate bags into the dust collection system
- Replaces the empty liquefied gas tanks, as needed
- Works safely by wearing the proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) in the designated areas or while performing designated tasks (e.g. respirators, safety glasses)
- Works safely by avoiding other forklifts and pedestrians; using safety mirrors; and sounding horn when entering or exiting the buildings
- Performs the safety inspection of lift truck at the beginning of each shift; and verifies the safe condition of the truck by completing the inspection log before using the lift truck
- Participates in PM (Preventive Maintenance), MMOL (Machine Maintenance Operator Leader), and 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) activities as needed
- Follows all EMS (Environmental Management System) procedures, including the disposal of waste and used materials
- This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

REQUIRED AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education and/or Experience
- Must be able to successfully complete all required job training
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Language Skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to complete forms, tags, labels and documents.
Mathematical Skills
- Ability to add and subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers and decimals.
Reasoning Ability
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to airborne particles; and outdoor weather conditions.

- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
VIII. SAFETY REQUIREMENTS/PPE
- Hearing protection is required in designated areas.
- Respirators are required in designated areas or under prescribed work conditions.
