NHK, a world supplier of internal engine components for the automobile industry, has an opening for a Logistics Supervisor at it's Louisville, KY facility.
Essential DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage all Logistics personnel including time keeping, scheduling manpower, PTO tracking, absenteeism coverage
- Maintain and improve Team Members’ quality of work and quality of products by following Working Standards as well as Quality Standards.
- Coordinate all Logistics activities including managing shipping, receiving and spare parts crib.
- Maintain the shipping and receiving work areas safe by following Safety Manual as well as clean and organized by adhering to NSPA’s 5S policy.
- Provide shipment readiness for daily shipping requirements to ensure all customer demands are met on time
- Manage, analyze and track empty customer returnable levels to ensure that there are enough in house to maintain a satisfactory finished good level to meet customer demands
- Provide training and documentation for all direct reports in accordance with TS16949 standards.
- Assist production supervisors with WIP and F/G inventory integrity
- Schedule and track cycle counts for spare parts tool crib.
- Work with Human Resources Manager and other top management(s) on evaluation of hiring new personnel relating to Logistics Department.
- Establishes clear expectations and holds team members accountable.
- Promotes and maintains a positive team environment.
- Work with other Supervisors and members of management to resolve department wide issues and to implement new programs, procedures and policies.
- Communicate with contracted transportation companies for quotes and scheduled shipments.
- Enforce all company policies and procedures.
- Meet or exceed all company targets and goals to ensure company profitability.
- May be required to work different shifts to meet the company needs. Function as a contributing member of the department's team and other teams, as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned by department leadership.

MENTAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to work and walk in plant.
- Ability to lift 50lbs or more and stand for long periods
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Two or more years of experience in automotive manufacturing industry.
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple tasks.
- Able to carry out complex written and oral instructions.
- English written and verbal communication skills.
- Superior skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and other office productivity applications.
- Ability to work in a multi-cultural business environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
