What are the responsibilities and job description for the Foundation Pharmacist position at NHS Tayside?
NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.
Would you like to put your clinical pharmacy skills into practice and be considered an expert in medicines as part of the multidisciplinary team?
At Perth Royal Infirmary and Perth and Kinross Community Hospitals we have an exciting post registration, clinically focussed, training programme with opportunities to gain experience and training across the four pillars of practice (clinical practice, leadership and management, education and training and research/service improvement). You will develop skills and experience by working across a broad range of Hospital Pharmacy services, including clinical areas such as: Surgery, Medicine, Acute Frailty, Stroke, Palliative Care, Elective Orthopaedics, and an opportunity for a short placement in Medicines Information. This exciting start to your career will develop you through the pharmacy career framework which will help you to progress to advanced clinical practice.
You must be person centred, have good team working and interpersonal skills and be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC). The post will include weekend working, public holidays and on-call duties as part of the NHS Tayside rota.
Informal enquiries to: Michelle Thow Specialist clinical Pharmacist PRI or Siobheon Reid Lead Clinical Pharmacist PRI
Hours of work are: 37 hours over 7 days. Part time hours may be considered. Applications are welcome from pharmacists working in any sector including those who will register this year.
NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week. If you have any questions or concerns please contact the Recruiting Board.
Short-listed applicants will be contacted by email. Please check your emails regularly, including your junk/spam folder.
