POSITION PURPOSE
This position is responsible for processing, routing, and labeling all outbound small parcel shipments in accordance with customer route guide instructions and on time service expectations. This position is also responsible for processing all inbound small parcels which includes customer product returns and scheduling inbound appointments for the Plainfield CFC.
The position interacts with Procurement, Transportation, Customer Service, Customer Chargebacks, Warehouse, Quality, and Inventory Control.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
This position is responsible for:
- Daily processing of all outbound small parcel shipments.
- Create shipping documents and labels to customer specifications.
- Confirm ASNs, delivery confirmations, and invoicing are completed in accordance with customer route guides.
- Verify the physical item and quantity against each order in WMS.
- Wrap, weigh, inspect, and affix shipping labels to all packages.
- Sort parcels for shipment and deliver to small parcel designated shipping area.
- Daily processing of all inbound small parcel shipments.
- Receive and sort inbound small parcels.
- Verify product and quantity received with packing slip.
- Communicate receipt of material to other departments once verified.
- Work directly with Customer Service and Inventory Control to resolve any Return Authorization issues.
- Scheduling of all inbound appointments for the Plainfield Customer Fulfillment Center.
- Process all e-mail and phone requests for delivery appointments from suppliers and carriers in a timely manner to meet production needs.
- Create APT# and place on the inbound load schedule with purchase orders.
- Search to find appropriate purchase order numbers when one is not provided.
- Review all route guide requirements for small parcels with Customer Support Chargeback Manager to reduce fines or chargebacks from customers.
- Must maintain knowledge of all customer requirements for shipping documents and label placement.
- Failure to comply with customer requirements will result in multiple fines.
- Perform various tasks when necessary, using proper safety equipment and procedures.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Include minimum qualifications for formal training, education, certifications, licensures, and/or working experience. Identify the level of knowledge; skills, and/or abilities (KSAs) required to perform the essential job responsibilities and duties competently.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:
- Working knowledge of WMS and Microsoft Office
- Basic knowledge of UPS WorldShip and FedEx Ship Manager
- Must become forklift certified
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Minimum of 2-3 years Warehouse Clerk or Small Parcel experience
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Must possess good communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to multi-task and work independently
