ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Regularly monitor system through reading gauges, graphs, meters, and control panels
- Monitor chemical supplies and adjust feed rates as required
- Maint ain logs, work sheets of operations, compile equipment readings and test results into reports
- Troubleshoot motors, and pumps
- Operate forklift
- Collect, analyze and interpret wastewater samples
- Perform related duties as assigned
KEY FUNCTIONS:
- Meets the physical requirements necessary, to safely and effectively perform required
- Knowledge of modern principles, practicesand techniques of wastewater collection and treatm ent
- Know ledgeof materials and equipment used in wastewater systems operations, and maintenance
- Knowledge of safe work practices including chemical storage and handling
- Knowledge of basic report preparation techniques
- Ability to operate and maintain a variety of wastewater collection and treatment equipment
- Ability to operate and maintain the wastewater laboratory and analysisinstruments
- Read meters and gauges correctly and to act quickly and competently
- Make routine Calibrations, adjustments and minor repairs to motors, pumps, and other equipment
- Establish and maintain a cooperative working relationship with those contacted in the course of work
- Carry a radio and/or cell phone as prov ided by Nichiha
- Ability to respond to emergency calls within a 30 minutes of notification

- Frequently works outdoors & indoors
- Constantly working around machinery
- Constant exposure to odors
- Occasional exposure to chemicals, excessive noises, slippery or uneven walking surfaces
- Occasional exposure to solvents, grease or oil, electrical energy
- Occasional driving motorized equipment/vehicles.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
LICENSE/ CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Preferred & the ability a valid Georgia Waste Water Treatment Plant Operator Class Ill.
Must complete and maintain Nichiha Certification of "Safe Work Practices" (SWP's) such as:
- General Plant Safety
- Powered industrial Vehicle
- Lockout Tag out
- Confined Space Entry
- Efficient in use of Computer:
- Word
- Extel
- Power point
- Hot Work (Fire watch only)
- Respiratory
- Elevated Work
- Line break
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination of experience and training that will provide the required knowledge and abilities to qualify for and attain certification as a Waste Water Treatment Plant Operator, Grade Ill or 90-days of employment.
Salary : $33,500 - $42,400
