What are the responsibilities and job description for the Raw Materials Operator - Plant 2 (B Shift) position at Nichiha?
SAFETY:
1) Understand and follow all safety procedures
a) Current on all safety trainings
b) Wear all required PPE when necessary (steel toe boots, safety glasses, ear plugs)
2) Understand Lock Out Tag Out procedures for assigned areas
3) Perform duties according to OSHA guidelines, policies and procedures
4) Complete General Plan Safety Training within the first 8 weeks
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1) Receive raw material (wood chip) delivered at the facility
2) Load and unload wood chip with wheel loader
3) Grind wood chip using plane machinery to produce wood flakes
4) Adjust and sharpen plane blades as required
5) Load the mixing platform with wood flakes to be used for production line
6) Prepare and perform maintenance of molding plate
7) Ensure molding plate to be free of particles of dust before placing raw material to make patterns
8) Move plates with forklift and/or hoist crane
9) Grind defective plates by using hand tools to reuse as raw material
10) Prepare and maintain records of raw material received, weights of raw material used, plane blades usage information, defected plates count, and other pertinent information required
11) Report machinery equipment damage or malfunction to Supervisor
12) Adhere to safety policy and procedures related to all facets of job
13) Preforms other related duties as assigned
SKILLS:
1) High school diploma or equivalent
2) Forklift Certification preferred
3) Wheel Loader Certification preferred
4) Experience in operating hoist crane preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
1) Must be able to lift at least 50lbs and to push-pull up to 75lbs
2) Must be able to work long periods while continuously standing, twisting, bending, reaching, and stooping.
3) Must be able to work environment which is dusty and noisy
4) Must be able to safely walk and work around Must be able to work required shift and work overtime with short notice machinery
5) Must be able to work in plant environment with extreme seasonal temperatures
